Externally Threaded Fixed Socket
The B Series ZEG socket mounts from the rear of the panel with its external thread and a lock washer, complementing the internally threaded ZGG socket. Where the ZGG thread is machined inside the shell, the ZEG thread sits outside and engages a plain clearance hole, which suits thin panels and plastic housings without cutting an internal thread. Solder-wire and PCB contact layouts share the same shell, and every dimension below follows the B Series shell-size range 00B to 4B.
Key features
- External mounting thread with lock washer, mounts through a plain hole
- 00B / 0B / 1B / 2B / 3B / 4B shell sizes, 2–32 contacts per contact layout
- Solder-wire and PCB termination layouts
- Brass chrome-plated shell, PPS insulator, brass gold-plated contacts
- Full-metal shielding construction: ≥75 dB at 10 MHz, ≥40 dB at 1 GHz
- Mates with B Series TGG / THG / TEG / TAG plugs in the matching shell size

Keying options
B Series connectors use a positioning-pin keying system. 0° (code G) is the standard key position; 30° (A), 60° (B), 90° (C), 45° (J) and 155° (F) positions are listed in the catalogue, so adjacent identical-size connectors on one machine can be keyed differently to prevent mismating and mixed wiring.
FAQ
Which plugs mate with the ZEG socket?
Any B Series plug — TGG straight, THG elbow, TEG front-sealed or TAG fixed — in the same shell size and contact layout. The positioning-pin key must also match, so order plugs and sockets as a keyed pair.
Can I order a non-standard key position?
Yes. The catalogue lists 30°, 45°, 60°, 90° and 155° key positions besides the standard 0° G key. Tell us which positions you need when you request a quote.
Solder-wire or PCB termination — how do I choose?
Solder-wire layouts suit cable assemblies built at the harness shop; PCB layouts suit sockets soldered directly onto a board. Both are available in the same ZEG shell, so the choice follows your assembly process rather than the connector series.
Typical applications
Choose the ZEG socket for instrument front panels and plastic housings where cutting an internal thread is impractical — the plain clearance hole plus lock washer holds the connector firmly without special tooling, and the external thread also keeps installation simple on thin sheet-metal panels.
