Double-Nut Socket for Front Panel Mounting
The B Series ZCG socket is fixed with two hex nuts, one on each side of the panel, so the connector can be installed from the front without reaching behind the enclosure. Two threads are machined on the shell: the front nut clamps the panel, and the rear nut positions the connector or carries a sealing washer. Solder-wire, straight PCB-pin and long elbow-pin layouts are available in the same shell across 00B to 4B sizes.
Key features
- Two hex nuts allow front-of-panel installation without rear access
- 00B / 0B / 1B / 2B / 3B / 4B shell sizes, 2–32 contacts per contact layout
- Solder-wire, straight-pin PCB and long elbow-pin PCB layouts
- Brass chrome-plated shell, PPS insulator, brass gold-plated contacts
- Full-metal shielding construction: ≥75 dB at 10 MHz, ≥40 dB at 1 GHz
- Mates with all B Series plug types in the matching shell size

Keying options
B Series connectors use a positioning-pin keying system. 0° (code G) is the standard key position; 30° (A), 60° (B), 90° (C), 45° (J) and 155° (F) positions are listed in the catalogue, so adjacent identical-size connectors can be keyed differently to prevent mismating and mixed wiring.
FAQ
Which plugs mate with the ZCG socket?
Any B Series plug in the same shell size and contact layout — TGG straight, THG elbow, TEG front-sealed or TAG fixed. Match the keying position as well when ordering.
What is the difference between ZCG and the long elbow-pin variant?
The standard ZCG carries straight pins or solder-wire contacts. The long elbow-pin variant has right-angle bent pins that reach a PCB mounted parallel to the panel; it is listed separately on this site with its own pin-out drawing.
How thick a panel does the double-nut fixing take?
The two nuts clamp the panel between them on the machined thread section of the shell. Send us your panel thickness and hole drawing in the inquiry, and we will confirm the fit for the chosen shell size.
Typical applications
Suited to closed instrument housings and junction boxes where the rear of the panel cannot be reached during assembly — the double-nut design installs the socket entirely from the front, which also simplifies retrofitting into existing cutouts.
